VLOMO2012 - Day 13 - Fresh Water is Scarce

It's easy to forget how scarce *fresh* water is here, but Padre is a barrier island and so there is nothing but salt water in the ocean, lagoon and in the coastal wetlands. The lagoon is said to be the 3rd highest saline content in the world for an open body of water (avg depth is only 3 feet).

So the local birds and cats know that they can often find water dripping from an RV hose.

VLOMO 2012 - Day 4 - Reflections

Refelections refers to both the images of the setting sun on the bay as we watch the blue herons and to our reflecting back on first dates when we were young.

VLOMO 2012 - Day 2 - Laguna Madre Dolphin Boat Tour

The weather cleared quickly yesterday and today seemed like a great day to go out onto the bay (actually the Laguna Madre, inside Texas' barrier "Padre" islands). A good time was had by all.
